AmeriChoice Collaborates With Heinz Foundation To Reduce Rx Expenses

AmeriChoice has joined with The Heinz Foundation to develop effective strategies to reduce the rate of growth for pharmaceutical expenditures by States. These strategies include an analysis of the current pharmacy benefit structure, studying current pharmacy purchasing strategies in Medicaid and across state agencies, and the development and implementation of 340B drug discount programs.

The Heinz Foundation has identified the AmeriChoice Management Services Organization (MSO) as an industry leader in consulting services that shows clients how to maximize their pharmaceutical savings.

The AmeriChoice MSO consulting team is working with the Heinz Foundation and multiple state agencies to:

• Assess current pharmacy delivery systems to identify pharmacy cost containment and 340B program opportunities
  
• Develop and submit 340B program applications
  
• Develop and implement pharmacy cost containment strategies and 340B programs
  
• Develop and implement reporting and monitoring strategies to ensure achievement of cost savings goals.
